How We Crafted Intentional Keepsakes With This Couple’s Romantic Charleston Engagement Photos
Congratulations to Ellen and Greg on their elopement! Forever grateful to them for choosing me to photograph their love story. They told me they felt free to be themselves with me behind the lens, which meant the world to me. For their portraits, they wanted to capture a mixture of playful yet classic moments. We selected two iconic Charleston locations they frequent: the sandy shores of Folly for a golden, beachy vibe, and the enchanting oaks at Charles Towne Landing to capture the timeless Charleston charm they adore.
Including their two beloved dogs, Luna and Dozer, at the Charles Towne Landing session was a natural next step. With the help of a friend who came along to assist (and sneak in some behind-the-scenes shots), the atmosphere was lighthearted and joyful as we explored. The dogs were paid actors, bringing laughter and spontaneity to the shoot and adding a heartwarming layer to the portraits.
Beforehand, we met up to discuss their vision for these photos and how they wanted them to live beyond their screens. With their elopement plans in mind, we set out to create custom art pieces that would become beautiful keepsakes. We collected their favorite images in a hand-crafted album, with additional framed prints for their hallway, and a larger signature float frame for their home. We’re even designing announcement cards to share their exciting news with loved ones. This collection will serve as a tangible celebration of their elopement and their unique love story.
